SKYWARE GLOBAL is seeking a Software Engineer in Krefeld, Germany. The Software Engineer works in the Engineering department and is focused on development and validation of MCU software for microwave products. The function of the MCU in these products includes functional control and telemetry of RF circuitry as well as bus communication with set-top boxes and modems. Current MCU platforms are based on the MICROCHIP-PIC architecture, but solutions from other manufacturers may be considered in the future.

Skyware Global’s product designs are always optimized for mass manufacturing at lowest total cost. This is achieved by close cooperation between the electronic, mechanical and antenna development teams and with our global supplier base. The Software Engineer is a key player in the product creation process from concepts via prototypes through final product release for manufacturing.

Requirements

  • A degree in electronic engineering, computer systems engineering, or equivalent required, advance degree preferred
  • Experience of telecommunication circuits and systems would be an advantage

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of and proven experience of developing compact embedded firmware solutions using microcontroller assembly language
  • Experience of software development using high level languages such as Visual Basic, C++, etc.
  • Experience with MCU hardware implementations and testing
  • Knowledge of software development environments for control of industrial test systems such as Agilent Vee or National Instruments LabView would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills
